I have a 01 426 10:1 comp, wiseco ,hd cam chain, extra oil cooler, stage 2 hc, brand new rear tires new seat cover fmf exhaust, different foot pegs, +2 a arms lt or st plastics are good, what is this thing worth, also there is less than 20 hours on all the new parts
2500 at most, Id expect your gonna get about 1800 bucks tho. 450r is only worth about 3500 used and in excellent shape.

I was thinking $1800 i had an offer for $1200 wich i think is low, but i only have the money of the the parts in it, i came across a great deal and pretty much ended with a free 400, but even though i hate to say this, i want a 250r

well 250r's are really sweet BUTT the 2strokes are not my favorite due to the obvious reasons. BUILD the 400 :D

Its built enough, now every mod is really pricy for the power and a 250r its with more down the road

The 250r motor is outdated compared to modern 2 strokes, it would take about $1200 in motor work to make it comparable to a modern cr250 motor.
A big mod for 250r's is the CR ignition, the CR ignition is $400+ from what I remember.
250r is a AMAZING bike, excellent for many different build types and racing situations, it can be bored out to a saber cylinder or a puma cylinder if you want BIG HP. But thats strictly for drag racing, I wouldnt build a saber or puma for off road riding or racing it would just be wrong.
They are cool but need alot of money to hook up, I would buy a 250r if I were looking to restore and keep as a collectible item.
Im toying with the idea of doing that with a honda 350x or the quad version of the 250x, build it inside the house on the wall or hung from the ceiling in the garage piece by piece...lol
Anyway, a 250r as a collectable or as a hybrid for racing would be really cool.

Around here you'd be lucky to get 1800$.... I'd say 1$1600 if it looks alright

What shocks are on it? I'm thinking it would bring $2K-$2500 up here depending on how it looks and assuming it's upgraded shocks.

Dang i wish i could get a fourwheeler for that cheap of price. I paid 2150 for my 05 400ex and it only had a full exhaust and it needed rebuilt. :p
My buddy and i just sold a 05 400ex that we totally rebuilt top to bottom for 2,300 and it had little things like nerfs, air scoops, pro taper bars, etc.

Hell yah buy a 250r!
I had a stock ported cyl 250r set up for MX that I sold a few months ago :(
Straight up whoop any 400ex around here on a track.. If you can keep a high strung 2 stroke in the meat of the powerband you're absolutely flying! Pulled very similar lap times as my 450r (+1 or 2 seconds on a 2 minute lap)..
It's a different animal.. but minimal mods (pipe, porting, high compression dome) will put you in front of an EX in my experience.
plus they look bad *** :D
