finished mx starting gates atv width

over the past couple of days me and a buddy have been working on a pair of mobile starting gates. we decided to make these wide enough for a full width race bike. and the same height of regulation gates. these both will drop together with the pull of a lever.

this thing is a lot simpler than it looks. the hardest part was deciding what color to paint it. ill take some pics next time im at the shop.

thanks and the colors are sweet haha ill probably paint mine pink. haha its like the flavor of the week with me and spray paint i get bored and paint anything that sits still long enough.

Id love to see a good shot of the dropping mechanism on that gate system. They look great, Im going to make a set this week for our track, but havent figured out how my mechanism will work.

The bad thing was it started as a 2x4 on a string and turned into this. It works good just make sure you grind a notch in the bottom of the hook, with paint in there it will not want to stay open otherwise. We use a half of a chain link for the hook.

Very cool. I like the drop mech, simple yet effective.
