been having my 07 450r for about 2 days now i have a hrc kit on it and a aluminum airbox with k&n with outerwear and rossier exhaust. What other mods can i do to it but where it is still reliable i dont wanna go big bore?

port/polish, bigger valves, bore the carb out, higher compression piston.

Your wallet is the limit. First throw away that exhaust, air box and filter.

in all honesty maintenance is the only way any engine is reliable. I wouldnt hesitate to go bb/stroker, or just bb and worry about anything. If you go out and do some crazy high compression, bb, high lift cam motor yes it can have reliability issues.

the main thing is who built it. if jim bob built it on saturday after he has had a case in him yeah i wouldnt trust it to crank. A good engine builder can recommend a setup that will last for a long time, if you do your part and maintain it.

changing oil and throwing that junky K&N out and get a Uni. keep your oil and air filter clean and any good motor will be reliable regardless of bore size

I also run rottella for the simple reason I change it sometimes twice a weekend, I couldn't afford to do that at 10 bucks a quart..

keep your oil clean and run what you can afford to keep new, if you can afford 30 bucks of oil a weekend then run amsoil

but don't ever keep oil in too long no matter what type ...so I say it again the best oil is clean oil

I buy the 5 gallon rottella for the price of a few quarts of HP4

I run an oversized radiator to help keep my 500 cool. With oil i use castrol syntec 5-50.
