anything after 2001 has a title, anyone that says it never came with one just flat out doesnt have one.

unfortunatly everyone is used to not having titles and just throw out the paper work because they think they dont need it.

A bill of sale is good but not a title, If you got to a title agency they generally want the entire timeline of ownership yada yada yada blah blah blah.

If a title isnt your concern for where you ride you can still use that as a crutch to lower the price, as long as it runs without smoke and the brakes all work and the rotors arent grooved and all the lights and plastic is in good shape, then its worth atleast $1200 in parts if its over 2004 and a well known mostly used type of atv or dirtbike.

thats a basic guideline but every option has different outcomes and unforseen issues.

As long as its in better shape then your EX its worth the same as you sold it for atleast:devil:

It looks pretty clean!

A bill of sale is worthless without a notary stamp. Get it notorized so you have proof you purchased it.

Darn the guy told me he bought it wo a title and ran the vin numbers on it and it came out clean and he said I don't need a notary and I believed him

Do we both have to be present for a notary to stamp or can I go or he go get it stamped?

do you ever plan on registering it? if not don't worry about a title.

the problem with no title is that if you have the bike in the back of your truck or trailer and you get pulled over for speeding, the cop is going to ask for a title or bill of sale. It has happened to me in OHIO. Other than that its easier to resell down the road also.

As long as you have any type of paper with both names printed, Signed and dated you will have no problems. If its stolen, He wont want to sign it or give you contact info.

Best thing i have found to sift through **** is ask for some maintence papers, Mod reciepts etc Anything that shows he didnt steal it a month ago and trying to sell it. If he has parts around and oil etc its most likely fine.

If all else fails, Get the vin# and go to the cop shop or call them when your at the guys house, If he gets un-easy theres your sign.

For re-sale who gives a ****. I use it to jew um down, But its a piece of paper and if they fall for it good. Not like you can register it for the road.
If you need a sticker or stamp, Have a friend get a second one because his first blew off at the car wash. But i have never asked or cared for a title, Just a bill of sale so its not on me and i have the info to get my money back no matter what.

To each their own, Good luck

Call the local cops and ask them to run it during the course of the sale to make sure its not stolen.

If the guys straight up simply go down to your bank during regular daytime hours and have them notarize a bill of sale for you. In most states thats acceptable and you can register it. No title still but its registered to you then.
