Well I finally decided to start on my 1985 atc250r today. This is what i started with:

Here is the engine as it sat when i got it:

Today we had to change all the kicker parts in it to make it work. For some reason it just wouldnt catch when kicked over so we went through it and changed it all to other stuff and works perfect, thats still a mystery to me. Then we started with the cylinder and piston:

then we got it all in the atc outside and was just buttoning a few things up:

I HATE THE PREVIOUS OWNER PAINTED THAT STUFF WHITE, ITS DRIVING ME NUTS! Itll be changed to red again or black even though it might look good in all white. This is the final pic of it as of tonight.

I have to get exhaust springs of my own. We put my brother's off his 250r on it earlier to fire it up and man this thing has such sick throttle response. Its more responsive than my ltr450 is and thats shocking to me. Ill be pulling it back down to clean it up and do a lot of powercoating. Im keeping the original gold wheels on it as they grew on me a lot! Ill be posting up more pics of it when things get done
