Ive been thinking about getting a steering stabilizer.. what do they actually do because i dont want to waist a 100 bucks.and what are some good brands

They help reduce bump steer....rough fast riding helps to keep the bars more stable. If you hit a rut or clip a tree it sure helps the bars from snapping as hard and injuring your wrists. If you put plus a arms on they are almost a must to have also. So it depends on your riding style...slow trail riding won't really need it...fast rough riding or racing it sure helps.

The second one looks like a old PEP, I had one on my lt250r in the mid 90's

I mostly ride trails, sand, and dirt also.
My big question to those of you that have one, is it worth it?

Wait and find a good deal on a used CCP puck style one.. I got mine for 110 shipped a while back.

They are much better than the stick kind and worth the wait!

I think that he only puts out one a week, and he makes them for all kinds of bikes... Looks like I am gonna be waiting for a while. lol

You'll be ok with a stick...I would like to try the CCP and someday hope to. I have Denton stick with 7 adjustments and it does great over the yrs. The sticks were all they had at one time not long ago and they worked for the pro MX guys, sometimes I saw 2 sticks on quad.

X3. Found mine in the classified section on this site. Definitely makes a difference from stock.
