The tank on the cobra I just got 3-4 of the bolts are stuck in there, can you pull out the inserts or is this tank trash??
Anyone have a good tank?????

does anyone know if that frt part is solid all the way across and same for the lower mounts for rear fender how much of that is solid plastic?

my mount by the shock goes through, gas comes out when bolt is out. dumb design.

You can pull them out on the front of the tank. The sides and rear are a different story. I know the rear does leak if pulled out, but I think the sides do too! Im sure Heath or one of the other Cobra guys could chime in with that answer. I pulled the fronts out, and just went with bigger trim screws, the size of the hole with the insert out.

I know for a fact that the rear lowers do not leak. I just dug mine out. Made new ones and apoxyd them back in. The fronts I don't know. My bike is an 09 don't know if they changed them. I don't see y they would have though.

Also. If u need a tank 121dad is parting his cobra out. Hell make u a good deal on it.

After reading these other guys post. I may have apoxyd the hole shut after I dug the inserts out. Idk. But my tank does not leak as of now. Down the rd may be a different story. I had all the fuel out of it when I was fooling with it.

The newer Cobra tanks use a wood screw that threads into the plastic and do not have the inserts. I would either fill in the inserts with JB weld and use the new style screw or upgrade to the new style tank.
