Well after tons if headaches, the 86' is starting to go together. This started out as a plie of parts, but mainly stock. As a bonus it has the original Certificate Of Origin from 1986! I have until friday afternoon to have this thing ready to ride,as long as it holds together through 3 Quad Wars I will be good..lol.. After that there will be some changes, but for now its how it will be. More pics as the week goes on. Engine is a 265 HPR mx port that came with it,fresh bottom and top end,rad valve, milled head,38 air striker and an old school Krank-It exhaust. I also have a set if DWT G-2's in black but went with the old school look for now. Many thanks to Atvriders and all the members that I have bought parts from!!http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz242/04450r/photo-14.jpghttp://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz242/04450r/photo-16.jpghttp://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz242/04450r/photo-18.jpghttp://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz242/04450r/photo-15.jpg

Good to see your project going good, and it is really cool to see your cylinder that was done or ported by Hall Precision Performance or HPP here in Glendale Az.
And just in case you don't know who Jerry Hall is, he is a perfectionist at his craft and maybe the top 1 or 2 engine builders here in all of Az and he is quite respected by many builders and us admirers.

Thank you,I have read nothing but good things about them, and cant wait to ride it! The porting does look very nice, and comparable to my Paul Turner National cyl, only alot cleaner in the work. I wish I knew more about the port work but the previous owner had no clue

You can always call Jerry Hall 6239318132. Jerry always has time to talk to his clients or customers he's a good guy.
The only issue you may have is he may ask you port height and all that good stuff so you will have to know answers for what he may ask you. But he will be patient he was and is patient with me .
But yes jerry does not cut corners with anything you can take him your 250R engine for a top end job next thing you know your bill is at over $600 because he does not like to mess with anything but new he will tell you to replace crank seals and bearings because he does not leave anything to chance.

Well just put it through two nights of Quad Wars. All in all it performed awesome! Jetting pretty close,up maybe one size on the main but it did get broke in the hard way!.. I literally fired up up for the first time thursday at 1:30am(so friday), ran it for 3 heat cycles then beat on it friday night and all day saturday, she did well!! Now it time to order some stuff I want to change, nerfs, new gas tank, shifter and a rear master cyl ressy mount. But it was nice to smell the oil burner and happy I switched from a 450r!

Thanks! Yep,Cr250 ignition I got off another member. Ive always been a Pep guy,but I will say that the best set of shocks Ive ever owned were Axis Ti on my 450r. This 250r has an axis rear, which is great so far but needs setup for me. I may sell it and get a pep rear, havent decided yet

You i havent put much time on my walsh yz but it has the X link axis Ti shocks and they are very very comfy.

but i remember early 2004-2005 when i fixed up both my YFZs with all walsh stuff and put a set of those big bottle PEP's on . holy crap. my riding went through the roof. was so much faster and confident i think too that i could attack the rough stuff and never look back. man i miss those YFZ's

but for sure keep us posted. love to see the progression of it.

This is the 450r I sold awhile back, long travel Axis Ti fronts and Pep Zps big can rear, Jb superlink link with Janssen swinger and arms. That quad was so comfy!!.. And atleast I did a 250r theme with it,K@K retro graphics, gold front and rear hubs, gold arm and swinger,I do miss that one but wouldnt trade my 250r for it..lol

Loving that Boyesen Stator cover, get it from Jeroski?

Killer 450r also, is that a silencer built midway down the pipe?

Thank you,the "tumor" as some call it is pretty much there just to quiet it down. Its the Joe Byrd edition Dasa. If I remember correctly is was somewhere near 93-94 db,had a nice quiet sweet sound to it.
As for the cover I was wanting a gold one but plans are calling for a black or polished Hinson quick change clutch cover. The black will match a little better I think. The polished covers I have now will go on the shelf for a future build
