what gearing do i need im using stock frony rims with studded tires the rears are 8 inch rims all studded my top end is gone i knew that was gonna happen...... what sprocket combo do i need for this set up on the ice

it really depends on the power your quad has and how big the track is, when i race i use 4th gear and gear it so my quad reachs peak power as it enters the corner. if you have no top end i would try a larger front sprocket buy one tooth and see if its better, you will loss low end a little but if your quad has the power it will pull through it, buy some used sprokets and experament with sprokets back and front

I agree with jpfmotors, i ice race here in MN, and i am currently running a 14t front and a 38t rear. But I do have diffrent sprokets for both the front and rear that I will change depending on the track. Best thing to do is experiment and learn how those changes affect your quad, make note and go from there.

yes 14 t front 38 rear is stock i have smaller mx rims in the back so my gearing needs to change i have a ton of bottom end i lost all my top end

so since i have a stock 14 front... what size in the back should i use considering im using an 8 inch rim in the back

depends on the track size id run a 36 or 37 with the 14 front but if you get into a bigger track the 15 front will help alot i mostly run 15 38 for my gearing and it does fine on most tracks but it depends on power too especially cause them studs really bite if its a tighter track roughly 14 37-38
