you might as well not even put those brake pads on, they might last a day if your lucky.

the cometic head gasket isn't to hot either, mine leaked after a little while, replaced with xr head gasket

i got a set of oem 400ex front pads i am selling left and right side hey can you use 400ex pads on a 250r?:confused:

the pads for ther front of the 250r are diff, they have 2 piston cailpers compared to 1 piston on the 400, the rear is diff also i beleive

its goin together sunday...i hope the brake pads last...
and I hope the head gasket doesnt leak...if i buy an xr400 head gasket...does it have to be oversized to fit?

other than that...im ready..

If everything is flat and you torque it down to spec (maybe just a lb or 2 more max) it should be fine.

I cant advise anyone to be using a smaller gasket than the bore, will work but just not right and could have complications under certain circumstances etc.

what i meant was the xr400 head gasket is for an 85mm bore...so wont i need an oversized one? im kinda lost:D

I feel a Hatfield trip comin for this summer Castor. :p


Ive gotta get the lawnmower runnin though. Well, unless Jeff will let me borrow a Dale for the weekend. :D

I really do mean lawnmower and this is the reason why. The 250 puts out around 13hp and our mower puts out 12.5. Mower has no suspenion, EX has 5.9 inches of travel that feels like 1". The only difference is maybe 10 mph and a mowing deck. :huh

i am using a xr400 head gasket on my 416, fits perfectly, no overlap in the cylinder

Hey that stuff looks familiar. Oh wait I know why. That is the exact same stuff I put in mine. Did you port your head or anything. I am very impressed with mine. I had to put a 36 sprocket on the rear because I kept wheeling when I hit the throttle. Lots more power:D :eek2: :D

havent ported the head yet...i plan on it...
im getting the jetting figured out but it runs good with the 165 main in it...i was going to try a race exhaust but Ill prob keep the BG
