I have 400EX w/Geckos 21/11/10’s I want to get Sand Sharks 20/11/10 for her 250EX but I also want to use them on my 400… will they fit? I want to be able to swap with her. Sometimes I get stuck riding hers so if the Geckos are on the 250EX will I be able to make it up comp hill & the dunes???

I beleive the 250ex has the same bolt pattern on the rim as a 400ex. Is that what you are asking ???

Yes thats one question, That way i'll have an extra pair when she dosen't go.

Should i get her sand devil's? Will she be able to turn ok she is only 115. What i'm really getting at is what's a good second set for me but is also good for her & the 250EX

i dont think a 250ex can make it up comp at DUmont with paddles, i dont even think a stock 300ex can, maybe 330ex or something

I'd get a smaller paddle for the 250EX. They just won't turn the bigger paddles very well and will actualy go worse. I have seen time and time again when people put agressive paddles on a smaller 4 stroke and the same bike with stockers will out climb it because the tall padles take away to much power. Get her a set of dune sliders or something like that. They won't be as good of a backup paddle for your 400 but they will work way better on her 250. I actually have a set mounted on steel wheels I'm wanting to get rid of if you are intersted and I'm not saying all this because I want to get rid of the tires either. I had them on a Recon and they worked well but the Recon is long gone now. I'd probably let them go for $50.00 or so + shipping.

You know what ? A lot of people may beg to differ with me, But paddles on a 250EX are a waste of money. I bought a set of cheap chevron paddles for mine, and they hooked up too well and sapped all the power from the poor thing. I pulled them off and stuck my 1/2 worn out Sand Skate II's from my 350X on it, and same thing. Tried all different air pressures, too. My daughter that rides it at the dunes couldn't make it up Comp Hill or South Jetty hill at Florence with either. We stuck the stock tires back on, and she had the time of her life! She flew up every thing she tried, dang near. It's because she could spin the stockers. The whole idea of riding on sand is moving as much sand under your tires as you can, and the little EX just doesn't have enough grunt to spin paddles very well. My 2 cents worth.

exactly what I was getting at. It is really easy to over paddle them.

The rims will definately fit...we are running our Shredders off my old 400ex on my little brothers 250ex and they fit or R and they will fit 300's but you really don't need paddles for a 250ex. They do help a little on slow rides and little dunes but Comp. and bigger hills the paddles don't help much but that's only my opinion. Also, yes a 250ex and a 300ex will both make it up Comp. at Dumont. Just need a good rider but it will make it up definately. Slowly but surely. The 250ex is a way fun bike, I love riding that thing just putting around...Later

Get s set of 6 paddle skat-trak gliders. They would be great on the 250 but may not be enough bite for the 400.

A 6 paddle Glider will work quite well on a 400ex. My wife ran them on her 400ex. Now we have a Z400 for her. It needs a 7 paddle Hauler. Most people over paddle as mentioned.

It takes a lot of power to turn them geckos so i recomend that you get like a 6 paddle tire for the 250ex and if the rim fits the 250ex it will also fit the 400ex.My daughter had them on her 250ex at glamis and she made it up most all the hills but had no power and was going very slow so i put 6 paddle tires on her bike and it was much easier for her to make it uop the hills and she was able to go faster also. She liked the six paddle tires much better .....Chris
