I've been thinking about this choice for a while now and really dont know which one I'm going to run.I like the 2 extra degrees of duration on the Magnum but wish it had the extra lift that the Hotcam does. How would that affect performance? This is going in a 440 stroker (416 bore/+4 stroke) with +1 Valves and ported head 11:1 Piston.
intake .350 exhaust .345 duration .256 Magnum st.2
intake .354 exhaust .350 duration .254 Hotcam st.2
There so close Id say the difference would be so minimal you wouldnt notice.
is the magnum a drop in cam like the hotcam or do you have to harden your rocker arms

I believe the mag cam needs hard faced rockers. They are very close, the butt o meter isn't going to tell any diff nore to I feel the dyno or power would.

I agree they are close. So close I would go with the cheaper one. But if you really want to get picky the extra duration means your gonna have to rev it a tic harder to get it ripping. If it were me and price wasnt the concern I would probably go with the extra lift.
