my last dirtbike was a yz 125 and i liked it and all but i got rid of it and then i got the 300ex ... then the 400ex .
i would like to get in dirtbikes but i do no want to buy new i want to buy used i was thinking of a cr 250 i think it is 2700 out the door. with a pipe i think fmf... and it had graphics....

like i said i dont really know why i got rid of my yz i just got tired of it and my gf cuz offered me 200 hundred dollars less then i paid for it a year ago and i pretty much junked it out ... *first dirtbike*

or i could get a cr125 94 for 1200 dollars that just got a rebuilt shock and motor ... it also had bent handle bars and it runs pretty good it will spank my 400 and it will spin and pull wheels at the same time which is pretty cool

by the way i am still doing my 400ex motor it is just i need to save more money to get what i want on it so get prepared to answer more question in a month or so :) or less i buy a dirtbike then i be broke again ..
SORRY FOR CAPS BUT I WANTED THIS TO STICK OUT ... I AM LOOKING FOR A DIRTBIKE FOR KICKS NOT REALLY HILL CLIMBING OR MX BUT SOMETHING I WONT LOOSE TO MUCH MONEY ON AND ALSO HAVE A GREAT TIME AND RIDE IT MORE THAN FIXING IT .. IF YOU RECOMEND A DIFFERENT BIKE TELL ME WHY AND HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE I SHOULD BE EXPECTING TO PAY ANYHOW THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

How about getting a 1993 RM125. I have one you could buy. Just look in the For Sale forum.

you really cant go wrong with any of the major brands(Suz, Kaw, Yam). for playing around the 125s and 250s are great. if you can find a nice used one, less than 5 years old and not pay any more than 2500, you found a pretty good deal.

my friend just got one of those new Yamaha 250F and it's bad as hell. I rode it a little and wish I could afford one right now but I like my 400 better. But if you won't a bike with good power and not having the hassel of top end rebuilds then I'd go with it.

Whatever you get... just be patient and you will run into a killer deal. Basically, good deals right now are the Trade-In value according to www.kbb.com. That is usually for the 125/250 2-smokes. The 4-strokes usually keep their resale value pretty good and are all-around more expensive.

The 250f is a killer bike, no doubt about that.

But if your main focus is just on a fun bike that will not loose its resale value... look for an early-mid 90's Cr250. They were great bikes. Awesome engines, great handling, bullet proof reliability, and you can pick one up for $1000-1500.

From what I've seen, as long as the bike runs and look halfway decent, you can always get a grand outta it. So if I were you, I'd look for the newest bike in the $1000-1500 price range. That way when you go to resell it, just clean it up a little bit and you'll be able to get your money back out of it pretty easy.

But, if you are looking to spend more and want a modern MX'er... the Yz250f is an all-around awesome and pretty versatile bike. If you keep it for a couple years, it will hold its value pretty well... but expect to take a loss on it, especially since the Honda Crf250 is coming out soon.

recent shoot out
1st yz125 1st yz250
2nd rm125 2nd rm250
3rd kx125 3rd kx250
4th sx125 4th cr250
5th cr125 5th sx250

so if i could get a brand new bike right now i would def get a yamaha, used one, it all depends on the shape its in, but my first choice on a 00, or 01 would be a honda

Sometimes the bikes go a lot higher or lower than the blue book so it wont always work. I have sold a couple quads that say they were worth $500 and sold them for $1500 and got more calls the next day. Its just how much they sell for around you.

I am also trying to decide on a dirtbike. I am undecided on a CR125 or RM125. I am probably going to go with an RM125. I have ridden the CR and love it, but I can only imagine the RM is a little better.

man get the cr!
they have high resale and i think there a lil more reliable, the rm is still a good bike but its not a whole lot of a difference
