How much would it cost to build a 1988-99 model 250r from the frame up most part would be stock

Mine when I did it with used parts and mostly aftermarket minus shocks, frame, and a-arms. It cost me $5000 with no fenders. This is what it looked like:

Just by looking on this forum at the classifieds I could get a arms frame and swinger and make it almost a roller for prolly 1500

It's believable. In those pics that is a lsr swinger, lsr carrier, and lsr axle so that hit me up a little bit.

that was done in 05? u can put together a roller for about 500 right now the values arent as high as in 05. look on ebay chassis 100 swinger stock 25 shock 25 a arms 50 ish stock motors used to go for 6-8 now bids are at 3-4 u could do one in reasonable amount i bet.

Find me a frame for $100 I'd love to do another. Cheapest I could find the other day was $300 shipped. Mine was done in 2007 or 2008

The only thing I'm worried about is if I start building another quad I know I'll want to build it to the balls and end up spending a lot of money but I do want a all stock 250r just because there's not to many I've seen that are all stock

I can sell you a near complete (robbed a few parts for projects) 86 that was running when put in storage for $1500. and you can come pick it up.

Building an all stock would probly be more expensive then buying a near stock complete one. There's alot of people on ebay that are just a complete rip off for parts. I myself build them from the ground up and never buy a complete one and try to stay within a reasonable amount for each build but that never happens and I end up spending 12 to 15 grand:eek:. Now I need to check the cost of my current build.

I've built 2 from the ground up piece by piece. The current one I'm building I bought complete and running although I'm broke it down for a rebuild.

I think it's cheaper and smarter to buy one complete to start with. Run it and ride it a couple times to make sure the engines solid (at least the bottom end) then break it down for restoration / Mods.

The only way I'd piece one together now is if I have another one complete and ride ready. I know I'd feel "rushed" to complete the build and start making mistakes (money wise) to get it done.

I usually spend about a year on a build and fully document each one with a crap load of pictures and reciepts of the before and after of every part. That way when I insure it, its for the full amount it cost me to build.

Im building one from the ground up,was nothing but a pile of boxes, but mostly complete. Motor was fresh on the bottom end but needed top end done. Frame had new powder but they didnt fix the motor mounts so that had to come off. Had stock suspension and a bunch of other parts that had to go. With selling off what I could, and making it "mine",Im easily over 6k. And have yet to start putting it together, with 2 weeks before my first Monster Jam of this year!.. They can obviously be done for way less, but it all depends on what you want. As long as you have fun doing it,it will pay off in the end, just dont tell the wife how much you spend!

the nickle & dime stuff is what kills your budget. bearings, seals, bushings, hardware and etc. gets very expensive.
