truck tire rim q

Wanting to buy some wheels off craigslist, they have 305-70 r16 tires on them, which are to big for my little 2wd cummins. My question is can i put my 265-75 r16 tires on those rims with no probs?

how wide are the wheels? having 305's on them they could be anywhere from 7.5-10" probably. not sure if i'd run 265's on a 10" if thats what they are.

305-70-16 is a 33"x12"x16r. 265-75-16 is a 32x11.2x16 give or take brand spec's. If you have aftermarket wheels thats most likely the problem.
