Okay well when I was tearing everything apart on the 400 today I noticed that one of the main springs for my front shocks that I had Jet covert for me was shorter than the other. I don't know if this is the way it's supposed to be or if Jet messed up and threw it on without thinking. I hope it isn't the 2nd. Anyway I emailed Nick and asked him what he thought, prolly won't be until Wednesday till I hear back. So what do you guys think happened here?

Okay, well Nick just messaged me back already and said it's a collapsed spring and needs replaced and that they would do it for me when I send them in for a serivce. I wasn't planning on sending them in for awhile since I just ride trails and they don't get the crap beat out of them. So I asked him if I could just buy a new spring and install it myself. Trying to save up for the 450 rebuild and $140+shipping is money that can go toward the 450.

Ok, first of all I'm no expert but if you count the coils the one on the right has more. Looks to me like 2 different springs.

wow this guy sure is a piece of work stick...i own/work in a dieshop and a collapsed spring means a broke spring. When they are on the verge of breaking, they will damn near bend into a "U" shape beforehand.

Get what you can from this guy and NEVER CALL HIM AGAIN. If you do, you deserve whatever you get.

Wow you guys sure jumped off the deepend quick..

Maybe I am retarded but I count the same coils on each spring..

Nick has some of the best customer service out of a lot of places we deal with.

Just explain to him that you think he should replace it if indeed they are off balance and he will make it right.

Here is how I see it.

Maybe I am wrong, IDK.

Same amount of coils, I counted it too.

One of the springs could be a slightly different rate or possibly might have been a worn out spring thrown on by accident. Mistakes happen.

Forgot to update this. I called Nick on Wednesday and asked him what he wanted to do about this and I told him I wanted to just get new springs and take care of it myself if I could. So he said he would just send me new springs if I returned the old ones. So I just agreed to that and sent the old ones in and am waiting on the new ones.

Nick is a good dude.

I honestly didn't figure he would just tell you, that you were SOL.

Glad you got it taken care of.
