Wanting a new type of foot peg and keeping in mind that it had to atleast be lighter then the stock foot pegs I came up with this idea.

I liked the old style GT and Dyno foot pegs from the bicycle days so I went to wal mart and found some to see what they looked like and how the splines fit a 400ex foot peg bolt.

I found a cool pair for $10 and opend up the packaging to find that the bolt didnt thread in but was perfect diameter to slide through the peg like a 400ex peg and bolt do.

So I bought them and bought some new bolts and washers and went home and put it on.

It looks freaking great and will more then serve its purpose, even better you could double up the pegs on both sides and have a wider foot rest on the peg. You can buy diamond cut pegs and rough cut or sanded style, Fat, skinny, short, long. I went with polished and fat to fit my build.

Unfortunatly you cant use nerf bars from what I can see but im sure theres ways to figure it out.

Opininons?

This is what doubled up would look like.

Coming from racing and fast trail riding u could'nt pay me to ride on foot pegs like that....feet sliding off the end, rolling forward or back and having a brokin ankle or worse. Thats just my opinion...you asked.

Yeah deffinetly these would be dangerous for off road riding and racing.

This is for my drag racing only hybrid so the polished wont be so bad for slipping issues riding only on flat ground.

The diamond cut and ruff cut pegs would be better for off road style riding. I could still see a slight slip issue in ruff riding conditions even with the diamond cut, I do not reccomend my choice for any off roading.

I do think diamond cut doubled up would work "ok" for off road riding.

Something like these maybe.

For offroad you could even,
Get some footpeg extensions or something rough cut like that ya know, and mount them to these things, and it would be a nice wide platform. As long as you could get your foot on the brake lever.

Most aftermarket pegs are damn near capable of cutting to the touch. You couldn't put enough diamond cut into those for anything besides dragracing.

Bolts, Even 10.9 will snap first few jumps. If your feet stay on the pegs long enough. Then add no nerfs, Thats a broken leg and them some waiting to happen.

If its for show and "bling" then go for it, But its a when situation not if. Good luck

Ya you guys are probally right, it would be kinda bad to find out the hard way.

But for drag racing its pretty cool. :D

People actually use bare metal tubing for foot pegs all the time for dune racing and hillclimbing.
