I just put a FCR41 on my 440. The thing makes some clatter at idle, is this normal for the FCR carbs ?

When I adjusted the clip position on the needle I noticed the clatter was coming from the slide being have a bit of a loose fit. Is this the way the are setup ?

Mine doesn't make any rattling noises. If it doesn't have an air cleaner/boot attached then you do hear a lot of intake and valvetrain clatter (more than with the OEM carb) which is normal. Hope that helps.

I have the 39mm and haven't had any clatter. I have noticed it makes kind of a whistle/hum noise. I've heard the same noise coming from other bikes the the FCR. Does anyone know what causes this noise?

the FCR is such a high air flowing carb, thats what causes the noise. It jsut sucks in ALOT of air, and thats what the hickup when u nail the throttle is

I figured the noise was from the added air/fuel the FCR could push. I wasn't as worried when I heard another bike with an FCR make the same noise. Thanks for the info.

Mine does the same thing. I just idled it up a little bit and it went away. Sounds to me like the pressure of the air coming in is shaking the slide back and forth a bit. No biggie. :ermm:

Mine clattered at idle too, its normal. I just increased my idle speed alittle bit and it went away.
