What is the biggest carb you've seen run on a 400ex? I recently picked up a Lectron bored out to 43mm that I think I'm going to experiment with. It'll go on my 416 12:1 engine with a huge cam, exhaust and port work. I know I'll sacrifice some bottom end for top end, just trying to make the most power from 6,500 to 10,500 rpm. Hopefully the stock rod won't give out first lol.

Don't know the biggest carb, but remember a review on the Lectron carb.
It wasn't as good bottom end as the Kein or Edlebrock but was the best on the top end. Good luck.

It will be to much for that build i would think. I have a fcr that is bord that big on a 440 with 12.5.1 and cylinder is decked .025. But it never hurts to try it to see what you come up with now that you have it.

One more thing if you are going to tunr that motor that hard, change the crank it will not hold long. I had one come apart and its not good....

at what rpm/power level did yours come apart? Was it a 440 or 416? I know I'm getting into the territory of pushing it.

Id love to see a crank fly apart at 10,000 rpms  , it would have to be NASTY, but I would deffinatly feel bad for the owner :ermm:
