Plastics thread!

I need some help and I know you guys will have some awesome ideas...

I need new plastics BAD. I've rolled a few times and they just bounce all over the place and there aren't any brackets left lol.

I'm am deciding between Maier, fullbore, and Laker. Laker has the best price but I still love the original look of Maier.

Let me know what you guys think! Let me know what colors you guys would think look cool and what not..

I like the maiers they are really thick and nice. Had them on another quad and was happy.

As for color, Ive been tempted for so long to do orange. Id think it would look awesome with my black frame.

Then I remember costs and the fact the suckers will get ruined. Next set of plastics I get for anythign is getting full out gfx or a clear gfx sticker over it to protect it.

I love the maiers too.. and i love orange but I have a lot of red accents on the quad.. i'm gonna look into the gfx

They dont even look that bad. My 400 plastics have some gouges in them. Forget the 450 it looks like it was rolled a few times lol.

Guess I'll be the first one to say I'm not a fan of Maiers. The backs flop around like crazy and my front race cuts flare out on the bottom by the tank which causes my boots to get caught on them.

I like the Maiers on one of my bikes, they're in rough shape but overall i like the look of them. Thinking I'm going with the fullbores next though. Maybe try lakers on my son's bike when he decides on some colors.

If I'm right I think the lakers are a decent amount cheaper than the fullbores.. I can't decide which ones I like better lol

the backs do flop around a little bit- but one of the bolts holding it on the seat is stripped and loose.

you mean the 05+ hood? yeah- im pretty sure- there are mounts for it

youd have to fab brackets for the light itself and get that plastic piece under the headlight.

If your talking about the 05+ headlight/hood :confused:

I bought Fullbore front in white......very cool, very thick. I then saved money an bought Mare rear in white.....much thinner and fender flop but place a half round 3/8" steel rod underneathan across an fastened with stainless bolts.....much better.

Fullbore rear was over a 100.00 more.

Pushing my brain cells now......have to find the reciepts...its been a few yrs ago now....fullbore front with insane shipping charge was around 300.00 I'm guessing and the Maier rear was around 130.00....only guessing, its been awhile.

O.....rear only in pink......lol....but they got race cut front in blue at a great price......Blue is good looking on gray frame EX.....somebody get it!!!!

I've thought about getting the pink because its so cheap and then getting breast cancer stickers for my aunt who passed... But I just couldn't find myself to have a pink quad. And I'd do blue but I hate the way the maier race cut looks lol

Doesnt do a lot for the change of looks option, but as for price, have you checked Honda lately? Last I compared with aftermarket, the OEM was considerably cheaper. They are American made so they are a heck of a lot cheaper then all the Japanese bikes OEM plastic, as there is no import taxes to ship them over here. Aftermarkets were really high compared to the last set of OEM 400ex plastics that I purchased, and it fit!

Think I really like the Maier fulls... I think I have to stay with the stock lights.. that's what makes the 400 look unique! theyre a pretty good price too.. lol
