I bought an IMS brain gas tank last year really cheap and its in decent condition.. like a dumb***** i thought it would look cool to paint it black to go with my color scheme. as soon as a little drop of gas hits the painted outside, a huge patch of paint starts to bubble.. Anyone got any good ideas on what to paint it with... or how to take the paint all the way off? I'd prefer to paint it tho..

Not gonna work unless you stain the tank. Here's the best write up I've seen.

Yea, it is a pretty in depth process.

Maybe get some custom black vinyl stickers made to wrap it?

That would probably work... If I cant get the paint off and either get custom stickers or by a sticker kit and try to cover the stock up a lil

Sticker wont stay on unless its a special sticker made for tanks. A gas tank expands and contracts with the gas in it and also due to temp changes.

Id dye it even tho its a PITA.

scuff it up a little bit and use bed liner coating on it, or try the rubber spray in a can stuff.

I was gonna use the rubber stuff in a can cause I have a lot of it laying around cause I'm a roofer(easy fix) but it didn't look to good... Think I'm just gonna have to go ahead and do that
