Also, the largest. My best friend of 12 years is stationed in Eglin, he's MP too.

he is getting ready to shoot the m249 and 240. charge, safe, lift, insert...brass to the grass, slam feed tray and fire.

life sucks as an 11B, he made a really good choice going mp.

Best decision I ever made was to join the army. I have been in almost 10 years now and do not regret one second of it. Tell him to keep his head up during th hard time and take every opurtunity the army sends his way. There are a million different schools and types of training that only the army offers and man is it fun.

He seems to like it, of course everything has a down side but he is doing very very well.

he is in AIT now so classroom work will be a PITA but when he comes home he will be able to head to school or try and land one of the federal LEO jobs locally which pay very well.

Very proud of him. Wasn't much around here for him so he took a big step.

I wish I would have selected a better MOS for the real world, but live and learn. Who knew that you couldn't a job blowing stuff up as a 13F in the real world. Makes me wish I would have went to the navy and been a pipefitter....lol

Tell him that 20 years will get him a nice retirement pay and then he can work another 20 for a local pd.

Hey Pappy, I am a 31B and Active Duty at Fort Riley, KS... He will love his job, it probably wont be what he thought it was going to be, but he'll enjoy it i'm sure. Been doing it over a year now and love it!! If he or yourself have any questions, PM me. Let me know where he is going to get stationed at and i'll make sure he gets someone to show him around. The MP corp is small enough that he'll find out really fast that its easy to meet most everyone in it, and you will know almost every MP on the whole installation. Not only that but the sense of brotherhood ( and sisterhood ) inside the MP core is very strong, because pretty much everyone hates us until they need us... so its pretty unique.

Thanks guys, I will pass on the wisdom!

He has been recovering the past few days but still doing lots of PT so he can score well on his tests in AIT. He seems to be really enjoying it all.

He wanted to buy himself something to celebrate graduating basic training and went out today to buy a new long range deer rifle.

He bought a Remington 700 SPS in .308.

He sure has thickened up, push ups haha! He was already into weight training but says they do very little so when he gets home in march he will hit the gym and get really big haha. He sure isn't that lil' kid I used to post pics of anymore!

You guys have a Merry Christmas, and thank you for your service!!

Pappy,

Steve went from a lean, mean 175 to 215 lbs of muscle mass due to 2 years of working out in the gym all the time. He got to the point he couldn't pass the running portion of his test. He had a heck of a time trying to work that muscle off. He is down to about 185 now. Tell Cody to really watch his endurance as the muscle starts packing on. ;-)

John he is all over that haha! He improved his PT scores even with a injured shoulder. He fell during a combatives exercise and said the PT test was killing him so he only pushed out what he had to to show improvement. The running is is main issue, he is made to run through walls not around them haha.

It was awesome having him home. He is back on base now for the final 9 weeks.
