My wife has an 02 250EX that i occasionally ride when swap or i let my friends ride my 400EX
I am going to add a K&N, remove the air box lid, re-jet kit and maybe get a slip-on w/disks... Any suggestions??
I was hoping not to spend more than $250. Because i still have to get paddles & rims for Glamis!

Is it possible to get a K&N, remove the lid, add a slip-on and change the main up one. I don't want to buy the jet kit if i don't have too.
I saw the Duncan Fat Boy review but that kit is like $430+

Id say get a t-4 slipon ($180), a k&n and change the main jet thats what i did at first and noticed a decent gain in hp.:D

Well if u dont have an after-market pipe on it the new jets wont do vry much..... only after u get the slip on will those other couple items perform at the best.....

Cut off the very end of the snorkel and rejet it. I have HEARD it would make some difference, it's a very cheap project! Just my 2-cents. I am in the process of doing this to mine. Or you could remove the lid and push the two rear clips down as if you were trying to fasten the lid, which isn't there. This props the back of the lid up about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch because the lid is setting on top of the back two clips. Then set the lid on as usual and clip the lid on with the front two clips. This definately make SOME noticable difference plus it sound faster to the rider.

i would recomend handlebars and nerfbars for protection...

You might try moto-man.com. I got my wife's 250 a Yoshi slip-on, k&n, outwear and jet kit for $305. Re-jetting was a must, and a bit tricky. I think I ended up with a 110main if memory serves me. She just wanted hers to sound cool:cool: but I was totally surprised how much it helped it out. Even with 20" paddles, it will walk away on the top end compared to stocker with 22" paddles. But, with those smaller tires and free breathing mods, it hits the rev limiter like a sumbich.

250$, if you are stuck on that, get a pro circuit t-4 slip on 180$, dyno jet kit 50$, kn air filter like 25$ maybe a lil over but it will wake the quad up alot, if you got a lil more i would get the e-series pipe i love mine, it sounds so sweet, and added alot of bottom end, my friend has the pro circuit adn it just dosnt sound as good as mine:D

Or instead of 50$ on Dynojets you can get spend about 15$ at your dealer and rejet it yourself..

get the T4 slip on and raise your main up 1 with a kn filter and no airbox lid.

before you go out and buy the whole jet kit, just buy a couple of jets. you should probably get a 110, 112 and a 108 to start, then go from there. you can always take them back/exchange them. should be about $2.50 each jet

true but if you get the whole kit, you get a needle jet to, and washer clip, and stage 1, 2, 3 jets main and piolet, if you plan on going higher you can but its watever you wanna do
