My bike sounds fine when idling as soon as revved or riding it gets louder and louder like something is loose at the top of the motor it rattles loud im thinking it's the cam chain maybe or valve maybe

agree. when were the valves adjusted last? are the retaining nuts tight? cam chain tensioner functioning correctly? bolts holding the gear to the cam shaft tight? it could be a number of things.

it does kind of sound like this youtube link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6QeRQ8QuNwd called 400ex timing chain ticking noise but when idling it doesnt make this noise only when revved up. I dont know but something is wrong my 440 feels like my stock setup which with my stock bore with curtis sparks with 11:1 and stage 2 cam and 450r carb something is wrong and idk why it feels this way im thinking my jet may be too big it is frustrating

also the head is ported and polished with +1 intake valves so it should be way faster than what it is

It deffinetly is not jetting related, unless it was WAY TO LEAN, but then it wouldnt idle very good, you will need "atleast" a 190 main jet for your 440.

Did you ever replace the exhaust header crush gaskets?

They will leak and sound like a tap if they dont get replaced after you have removed the header.

Just a thought.

I have a 195 in it right now and I haven't changed the exhaust header crush gaskets
