compression

'05 400ex stock engine
checking compression cold was 130psi, hot was 170 psi
throttle wide open,plug grounded to cyl, otc compression gage
my '04 service book said 100-128 psi. i am asuming that is cold. is it best to chech hot or cold for best maintanance, and is the book refering to a cold engine for checking?thanks

Honda book calls for warmed up engine. If its not lower than 100 psi your fine.
