Early archery season kills by some family. Don't have any turkey or bear pics but it's been a good year all around.

Let me clarify. The ram and pig were shot on the preserving called the wilderness. All of the bucks were taken on our property in clearfield county.

What happened to your area? I remember years ago you posting crazy pics off of deer cams of numerous bucks down there.

My best take on it....

2009 we logged. I killed a nice Buck during the logging but deer sign was down and I suspect the logging was the issue.

February of 2010 was that huge snow storm and we had almost 5 feet of snow. The DNR claimed the deer kill was not that bad but I feel otherwise. I was getting over 500 images of night and had a really solid herd here up to that storm, afterwards we got nothing.

That spring, deer sightings way down all over this area.

I cleaned up my woods, planted and sat back expecting big numbers but they haven't shown up. 20011 was 1 7 pointer killed and 4 Does. A neighbor claimed another neighbor allowed someone to bow hunt and he said he killed 4 Does. That would make a solid kill for here but I do not think he killed but 1(I can see his stand and hunt so much I know what deer are where and missing)

8 acres was also used to build 2 houses on that was prime bedding. They are the nosiest MF's you ever heard. That hurt the deer and possibly pushed them to another ridge or across the road as I do still see loads of deer in there.

So add all that up in a relatively short time and I got jack spit LOL. I have been hitch cutting Ironwoods and such to open more canopy and provide much needed cover. I think when it thickens up the deer will return and I will bust their ***!

Dad's buck he shot this morning. That makes for #3 so far for our ground. I saw this one in archery but he was a good 80 yards away and never came in. I thought for sure he would've been picked off the first day of rifle but apparently he made it through most of the seasons.
