Those a-arm mounts look beefy as hell, as well as all the other mounts on it. so you building a mx bike or XC or just a play bike?

All I know is I spent over 4 hours ginding and sanding and cutting on a stock frame and Ive got it down in weight alot.

I bet this allum frame still weighs less and DEFF looks better then mine does.

Even if it doesnt weigh alot less, it still has all the tabs and looks better then any stock or cut 400ex frame :blah:

Plus it was bill ballance's So its a perk. The only issue I'm having is there is no top mounts for my roll design heel guards

I may have a design to help you out with mounting those heel guards, Im actually gonna do it to mount a coil on my hybrid.

If the bottom is secure and all you need to do is hold the top in place firmly and securely, I may have a idea that would need no frame mods and will hold it nice and firm "possibly".

Just throwing it out there, when you get to that point post a pic and Ill see if it will work here for you to.

I built the bracket last night, I think it will be perfect for what you need.

Im gonna take pics now and ill upload them tonight and I can either post them here or pm them to you so I dont clutter up your build thread.

The last pic may be tricky cuz there is nowhere to bolt up a bracket?

This is the bracket, keep in mind that this is a mock up so its un painted, thin alluminum, with little bolts...etc. But it is a very solid mount.

its rubber mounted in this version, I cut a piece of heater hose to fit over the mounting spot then when its bolted togethr it creates a pinch that clamps the mount tight to the frame without scratching or drilling holes in paint or allum 1 of a kind frames.

If you spent a lot of money on the frame I would not do a hack job, I think you should send the sub and the guards to a local shop or ship them too six5design and have them weld a nice threaded bracket on to make it look nice.:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I think the goal is to not weld or drill anthing on the frame, if you look at how stock 400ex heel guards are mounted, the bracket wont be far from it, made of steel it would be alot stronger.

Mine looks like a hack job because it took 10 mins to make and I wasnt worried about looks....lol.

It would bend or break something before it moved from its spot tho.

Its just a option that could be modified to better suit his needs, I would also take the time to make it look better.

I don't see a problem with welding on that frame as long as you have someone who can weld an make it look right

You gotta love these LRD frames . Seems like out of all the aftermarket frames ever produced these hold there value better than all others

I wonder if you could have a pinch bolt setup made out of aluminum....almost like a brake lne clamp with rubber grommet 2 pcs of plate aluminum aircraft or Chromoly with 2 pinch bolts to keep it off the frame but snug against it. You should call some of the drag frame builders and let them come up with something. I would get something custom....coated or chromed that frame too damn nice to not!
