Sitting here bored so I thought I would post pics of my new gearing setup.

I was running a 16T Renthal front sprocket and a 40T Tag aluminum rear sprocket. I ground down the Nac's case saver many moons ago to clear the 16T front. The Tag rear has very little wear/use so I may put it up for sale.

I was wanting a slightly taller gear ratio, so I went with a new OEM Honda 15T front sprocket, and a ProTaper CS4 37T steel rear sprocket. I wanted a steel rear sprocket for longevity, but since steel is heavy, I wanted to find the lightest all steel sprocket I could. The CS4 rear is one of the few steel sprockets I found that have been drilled for weight savings. It also wasn't very expensive, as I didn't want to shell out $70 plus for some fancy titanium etc. rear.

Here is my prior 16/40 setup with modded red Nac's case saver.

New ProTaper CS4 37T steel rear. The center has been machined out as much as possible as well as drilled to cut weight. It wears some type of special black KTL paint coating.

I wasn't sure how the black would look, but it's looking pretty sexy against the candy blue powder and billet sprocket hub. I gave the billet hub a good polishing as it was looking pretty dull to start.

New Honda 15T front, and installed a new blue anodized Nac's case saver to top it off

The blue case saver cleaned up the look a lot IMO. It ties the candy blue accents together from front to back.

Yes the blue case saver did do a good job of tying all the blue together. The original red one actually stuck out like a sore thumb after you mentioned it!! Sweet bike dude. Hey does Nacs still have any of the 400ex headlight covers lying around?

Love it....wish our quads always stayed this clean....I've got the same Nacs graphics on my race plastic, ...plastic got bad an was able to heat off an spray adehisive it on to new plastic, still looks great after all these yrs...got the Nacs bar pad an headlight covers.

I liked running the 16/38 combo....but played around with my 36, and 37 sprockets too.....found the 36 would make it break traction an spin too much on slick stuff though....an the tracks always were slick from OVER watering before racing......

Thanks guys. Funny thing, I noticed the Nac's website was not working last week. I thought it was site maintenance or something. But now if you do a google search it no longer exists!

Hope they're not out of business.....again :ermm:

I try to keep her clean. It's gotten plenty good and muddy in its day but I hate mud lol. I don't ride it as much as I used to so it's a garage queen a lot. But that's ok since it's getting up there in age. It's earned it :p

Yeah I was just thinking about what I would do if I needed new graphics. They are kind of hard to come by now and I would cry if I could no longer run the Nac's graphics haha.

Never tried 16/38 before (2.38:1 ratio). That would be a tick higher of a final ratio than the highest i've run using 15/36 (2.40:1). I have run at the low end and high end (2.53:1) of gearing for the tracks I ride but never right in the middle. The current 15/37 combo (2.47:1) will be smack dab in the middle so it might be a good compromise.

And thanks rooster300ex and Thumpin440ex :)

Never mind. The Nac's page on Facebook confirmed the website is down, and will be down for a little while for a complete revamp. Ok, I can breathe a little easier now...carry on :o
