Hey guys I bought a walsh crf this fall and am rebuilding it, and I have noticed many things cracked and wore out, and some stuff that just plain needs to be re modified. forgive me in advance if I ask alot of questions as this gets back together. haha.

can alybody tell me what size spherical bearings the walsh a arms use? and also the end links they use to mount to the frame. I used to get them from a race shop here locally, but they closed up their parts department for some reason.

also, I contacted AC to see if they still offer the pro peg nerf bars, I thought I read they no longer offer them? if they do not where are you getting your bars from for the pro pegs?

I was told this is one of Jason Loubergs old chassis from what year I have no Idea, its just a normal race hybrid I plan on racing next season along with my 250r. the build will be pretty much the same as what you see here with maybe minor changes, maybe a hood scoup.

That's a nice looking bike, I talked with AC a couple months back and they told me they were going to start making pro peg nerfs again but lost there fixture. I was going to take my hybrid to Cali and let them use it to make the fixtures but they said they already had a bike lined up. So no idea were that is on there end. I know Rath will do custom Nerfs for you (not sure on cost) and LSR might do the same.

Morgan and I over at Demon Industries have done quite a bit of intake testing on the Dyno for my CRF hybrid, We are working on putting something together and have something pretty decent now but still have some testing to do.

The good thing about having a Walsh is that they still have parts for them, and what they don't have they'll usually make for you. I've had to call them with a lot of questions since I got my Walsh YZ and they've always been able to help me out.

Thanks. I noticed it didn't have the removable frame rail and there where only 4-5 of them made, but I also noticed the upper frame rails aren't an 1" higher. So that would have a cr500 link right.

Pretty sure there were more than 4-5 crfs made without the removable frame rail. I've owned several of them that way myself alone. And yes it uses the cr500 linkage.

Mike told me himself 4-5 with frame rails moved up an 1". Im not tryin to argue. That's just what I was told. Him and nate referred to them as crf highs.

Sorry for the thread jack. Justin if you look at my walsh resto thread you will see that mine is different from most of them. Subframe is different, the brake side lower leg is moved up. The engine sets comepletely under the frame rail. That's why I made mine removable. I didn't want to have to pull the engine just to adjust the valves.

Not arguing either. I just know of at least 3 that I've had my hands on without removable frame rails. I've seen others online for sale the same way also. And what was different on the frame your working on with the subframe?

Mine uses the crf brake pedal and master cylinder and the subframe lower leg bolts up above the master cylinder. From talking with Nate there where 4-5 made shane hitt still has his and mine is probably doug gusts. I know there are a lot of conversions. I can only go off of what history walsh told me. They say the crf highs where the first crf chassis they built. Then went to the removable frame rail.

Eh, what do i know? Guess the others i know of are fakes then? Couldn't tell a difference between them and the removable frame rail crfs I had either.

Back to the build!;)

My hybrid is far from a walsh, Just a garage built CRF in a trx450 frame but i come across trouble adjusting my valves. I was un able to see the timing marks when putting it back in time. I ended up making timing marks on the back side of the cam gear and use a piece of .010 shim stock to line the mark up with the mark on the cam tower. The reason i specify .010 is because its heavy enough it dont droop down but its thin enough to get the marks right on with eachother

In my walsh it sets under the left upper rail. The removable rail lets you take the valve cover off.
