My water pump seal

What would cause a new water pump seal to leak out the weep hole ????

Bearings are new also

Maybe it didnt get seated into the machined hole on the side cover & kinda cocked a tad or maybe the part of the seal in the impellar is crooked.

After you installed both pieces, did you put anything on the two mating surfaces of the seal like oil or grease ??.
If you did, that is probably why it is leaking.

Those seal mating surfaces, need to be clean & dry, because believe it or not, by being clean & dry, once the engine is running those two dry surfaces will grind between each other & imbed them self together & cause a seal the coolant cant get past.

Kinda crazy that those two pieces need to get ugly with each other before they can work right, but thats how it is.
