Racing question

My 13 year old son is interested in starting to race atv motocross here in Wisconsin. He has been riding a 400 utility quad for about a year.

I Don't know much about quad racing, so I'm looking for suggestions on what size of quad I should start him on, and maybe makes and models I should start to look for?

I would probably look at a honda 300ex. Also look at the series you plan on racing and their rules and what the other kids his age are riding.
