Does anyone know what you have to do to fit a 450r break caliper on my 400?

front or back? On the front you'll need 04/05 R spindles, hubs, calipers, master cyl.

On the rear: caliper, rotor&hub, caliper stay (mount).

I don't think you NEED the 450 master for the fronts unless you want alittle better control, but other than that Zeb listed it all.

Would it really be worth all the money its gonna take?

Look for some yfz450 front calipers. All you need is the two caliper and they will bolt str8 up where your stock ex calipers do. Its way cheaper and easier. Thats what I'm running on my ex and they work great. Yfz's have dual piston calipers like the 450r's do. I also run a rear 450r brake setup and it better over stock ex, but If you just do the yfz fronts you still feel a huge improvement over stock.

I have never seen the pay off being worth the hassle of this mod. SS lines made a big difference, is is as much braking as I felt I ever needed. That combined with a good rotor or pads, I honestly don't think you can tell a diff.. Just my op

if you can find a set of yfz450 front brake calipers for around $100 it is worth it, especially if your stock calipers are frozen up like mine were when I first put new pads on.

The rear shouldnt cost that much to upgrade, depending on what kinda deal you can find, 75$ to 150$ for everything. you get better ground clearance and also the caliper is alot better and the brake pads are super easy to change and even last longer than the 400ex brake pads (at least they have for me)
