Having a kick start on a 300ex. Will the 250x side cover interchange? And is there a place for the kicker gear and component's?? Just would like to have another way to start it if the battery went dead.
Thank's.

yes to all.

It will work but it doesn't work as well as one might think. You have to really kick it as the stator on the 300ex has to spin much faster than the 250x. It will work though.

yeah, I was reading an older thrend it talked about removing a oil line and cuting a shaft to make it work or split the case and place the shaft. That's more then I want to do. I'll just roll start it.If needed.
Thank's for the reply though.

it's really not that much of an advantage to add the kick starter.

If you find yourself in a bine and need to start your 300ex with a dead battery here is what you do. Find something to high center the skip plate on and put the quad into 3rd gear. Grab the rear tire and give it a good twist. Works like a charm.

If your battery is dead the quad should not start as the 300ex uses battery voltage for the ignition. The 250x used coils on the stator to power the ignition.
If the battery is weak say down to 10 volts where it might not have the power to crank the engine then maybe kickin it would work.

I just bought this 300ex, the battery is good and all. Just thought it would be nice with a kick start. I had some 250x part's laying around. But just to much trouble to do it and from what yall have said it just not worth it.
Thank's for all the INFO..
