i have talked to some people and they say that u can run just gas, not pre-mix through a 2 stroke.....i am running 60:1 right now....is that bad or good? i have run it at 32:1, 40:1, and 50:1......what would be best for a Yz125....i have heard that the wrong gas mix can cause more wear on the engine quicker than pre-mix.....any help would be appreciated.....o yeah i use unleaded regular:)

Who told you something like that?

lmao. don't listen to that idiot!! never run straight gas in a 2 stroke or you'll kill your motor because it won't get any lubrication without the oil

Unless it has a seperate oil injection pump...

MX bikes don't.

Pick a good premix, be sure the bike is jetted right for it and use the same stuff all the time. Some are made to use the mix the same day, because they will separate from the gas over a few days which will tear up the motor. Those are for racing applications. Others are more forgiving.

Go no less premix than 32:1. Sponsered pros run less premix but motors get torn down after every race. :D

maybe you shouldn't own a yz or a 2stroke for that matter... 60:1 is pretty lean(or rich depends how you look at it) try like 50

NO, you have to use oil in a 2 stroke, my friends oil injector in his blaster quit working and he blew it up

i have a kx 125 and i run 40:1......no fouling plugs or bogging thats why i run 40:1..... when i run 32:1 it fouls plugs immediatly

ok, i was just wondering, i wasnt planning on running pure gas thought it, i just heard that and was wondering if its true......i think i will go back to the 32:1 mix...

32:1 is the mix I use and I sometimes foul a plug but not all that often.

I'm borrowing a friends YZ 125 to get some practice on a bike and he's running 32:1. He was running more than that (like 25:1) and it was fouling plugs like crazy.

if you have a extremely good oil and a good gas, you can make it by with 60:1, i run 32:1, i used to run 20:1, smoked to much and fouled out to much, it all depends on bikes and jetting

Go by the directions on the can for 32:1. Some premixes require less oil to get the same mix. (like concentrated cleaners)

i have always had 2 stroke bikes and alot of my buddies have them... The mix you use is 32:1 i kno this for a fact...................2 strokes dont need oil ya..riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight:rolleyes:

dont forget that if its running to rich or lean, dont just change the fuel oil ratio, you have jets in your carb(s) for a reason, and needle(s)

Remember when you put too much oil in. Well its better to much then not enough! and none! Are you smoking the crack? JP but you should know that, you will be lucky not to seize the piston!

yeah until you mix it too rich, which will slow fuel flow(more then it seems) and thats just like leaning it out...all because you have TOO MUCH oil in it...

If you run straight gas your bike will run like a raped ape....it will be hard on the top end....but yes you can do it.

i run 40:1 in the summer in my LT250R and 50:1 in the winter..

Figure it this way the more oil you put in ur gas... the less gas your engine is getting.

32:1 seems best any richer and you tend to foul plugs, I would run a good premix as lean as 40:1 but only if I was trying to get a little extra gallons fuel, and was out of premix.
