Are there any ATV drag racers out there? Anyone have any pointers? My local track is holding its first ATV Drag race no rules yet except youth quads are limited to 100cc. I have some fast quads but what kind of changes would you suggest for drag racing? I will be Dropping as much weight as possible.

I'd start with the MX gearing and go from there.

How long is the drag?

I presumed 300'.

I would probably go MX as well...
19 Front
28 Rear
Common MX gear ratio

Just a thought without knowing what has been done to your bike

They are suggesting 300' or 500' not confirmed yet.

We will be running our 2fast
2fast 86cc ported by Hot Quads
Mach-1 pipe, s-6 pvl
32mm carb Mach-1 intake
maxxis 940

we ran a 90 to fast in drag racing run your kid in in the youth class and the under 300 hundred cc adult class most peaple run blasters in that class that little 90 would eat them up , drag racing is good pratice for holeshot responce. and i would make your child wear full gear most kids dont but i seen kids flip ther bikes or burn there leg , good luck

I would recommend more of a TT set up. Should be easily Able to hit 55MPH in that stretch of 300 yards if using something like Astabulas front straight as a guage and with the motor you state you have. You Might concider a heavier shoe spring so it launches more in the peak power spot also. I would also recommend using the smallest size rear tire you can run (less weight resistance also in rear). Run 20T-24T front to rear if using MX tires and in grass. If on clay or even dirt I would recommend to run cart tires (hoosier) with a close to 1-1 ratio. These cvt motors have torque so taking away some of the bottom end should not matter. The closer to 1-1 the faster top end speed you will have the farther away from 1-1 say 19-30 the more bottom end and less top end. Top end speed wins drag racing. In drag you do not have to be the fastest at the beginning just the end of the race. Also may want to concider getting a lower profile suspension set up as you do not have to worry about jumping etc. Good luck and should be fun.
