Well, as everyone knows, Sandy has been the center of attention for the last couple days. So since there is nothing else to do on a rainy day, I thought I might go spend some money and this is what I came home with. Need it for the Police academy that I will attend this winter, So I had an excuse for blowing the money :D

You probably wont have time to go to the range after this hurricane! We all know the world is coming to an end! Better get those "Zombie Bullets"...But in all seriousness. Nice piece!

Nope... You have to provide your own firearm. Which I am ok with because I want to get used to the firearm I will be using in the academy anyways. Plus this is the weapon I will most likely be using when I am finished with the academy and hired.

Good choice, my first pistol was a flat dark earth m&p 9mm, I love that gun!

Yeah, you cant go wrong with Smith and Wesson! I do ride alongs and am friends with town and state police. They say to go with either Glock or Smith and Wesson. They both make great pistols. The selling point for me though on the M&P was the fact that it was made in the US.

Good luck with the academy, the job market is over saturated these days though.

Very true, but I am not going state right now so my chances are a lot better at landing a job. I also have become friends with a chief and Sargent in my neighboring county so I have a very good pull to get in.

I def love the 1911s! but it was not what I needed for the academy. I needed something that I would most likely be using when I finish the academy.

This is the gun I really want to get and will most likely eventually have :)

I really wanted to get a kimber. ive been wanting a 1911 for a long time so i figured ill buy one now and get something smaller and easier to carry down the road.

Yeah, that is most likely what I will do also. Once I become a police officer I will have to have a weapon on me at all times, so I am sure I will be shopping around for a smaller sized "pocket" pistol

Get a COLT...I bought a stainless steel series 80 Government 1911 last year. Not only has it doubled in value since I grabbed it used last year, I like it better than any kimber i've shot to date...

I like to colts too... They are a good gun but if I had my choice I will probably go with the Smith and Wesson
