What year is your S-10?

My brother has a 2" body lift for a 2000 for $100. The suspension lift is big bucks around $1400!

I have a '98 Explorer with IFS like the S-10. You could do a torsion bar twist with rear shackles/leafs and a body lift for around 4". I was told that you can't crank the s-10s torsion bars too much...maybe for a little less than 2". I was able to get 2-2.5" out of mine wthout the CV angle looking too bad. You could do this pretty cheap.

My Exploder has 5-6" with 33s.

Body lift? Heck, we use to make them in Vo-Ag class. some washers, a welder and some pieces of pipe! Ya got your body lift.

You could use Hockey Pucks for a body lift. I've seen it done and It's fairly cheap.

Hey thanks a lot guys. Its a 97' ext cab. I know you can adjust the tortion bars but i'm not sure how to do it. Do you just put a pipe wrench on them and twist, or do you need something special. And for a 2 inch body lift, do you need an extended steering comlumn or anything? Thanks again.

Go with a body lift, they are usually around $500 to 700 at the most for 3". I just bought a '94 S10 with the ZR2 package back in november, and although I can't afford it right now I will be lifting it, maybe next winter. These are great little trucks, don't go ruining it with a body lift. If you are going to do it, do it right.
I really need bigger tires on mine right now, whoever traded it in before put some crappy 30" tires on it and took the stock 31s off. It looks kinda dwarfed, but maybe in a few more months I can put some 32x11.50s on it. hehehehe

The 32x11.50 tires will fit like a champ....just in case you were unsure. I put 32x11.50 BF KOs on my 1998 ZR2 last year. I've had a few people ask me about the tires and if I had to do anything to get them to fit. I do have the front torsion bars cranked up some and moved the front bumper out just a little to make sure....and one year later.....no problems yet.

My brother has one for 1999 or 2000. I'm not sure. It was pretty expensive because of all the bracketry. A 2" was the only size available...I am not sure of the reason why...don't remember. His shifter had a cable so no extension was needed and no steering extension for the 2".

The older models should be cheaper and available in 3" also.

With an IFS frontend you aren't going to find a new lift for $5-700.00. Maybe $1200 or more.

Don't use a pipe wrench for the TT!
If you do the Torsion Twist, make sure to measure both sides before you start. Jack the front end up and look for the bolts underneath the seating area.(at the end of the Torsion bar) Tighten them up, trying to go the same distance on each side. Drop the vehicle down and measure both sides to see how much you lifted it. You will need a frontend alignment after doing it and it will ride a little stiffer than stock.

The body lift and all the brackets are for sale for $100.
If interested I will get the specific info.

Go to this site http://forum.zr2.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi (ZR2.com) and do a search or check in the for sale section. Lots of good knowledge and people on that site.

KJ#14 ~ Any pics of your S10 with those tires on it? I don't see many lifted S10's around here, and if I do I don't see them long enough to see what size tires they are running on them. I'd really like to get an idea of what it'll look like with the 32x11.50s on it.
Thanks, Kacy

Very nice SS. You say you have the 4/5 drop? Did you do that using baught parts or did you go with a 2/3 or 2/2 over the stock ZQ8 drop? Heres my SS, its a 97. I have done some things to it since the pic. Now it has nice black tint instead of that silvery stuff that was on it. Also, the tailpipe is gone because i went with a flowmaster 40 with a turndown.

Well fi your getting for a lift its not worth there way small.. not really worth it. sell it and buy a bigger truck.. unless its for looks then go ahead and lift her

the SS have 1.5 drop springs in them in the front and the tire size makes the other .5 inch in the ZQ8 suspension package. I have the 2 inch spindles and the stock springs in the rear i have the stock leafs with a 4 inch block and a c notch PM Me or IM me at layinlow10 if yah want.

id go with a BDS or a Trail Master lift. stay away from body lifts, or do them after the suspension.
