I recently had some head gaskets reproduced for the '85-'89 Mugen cylinder kits. If you happen to have one of these cylinders, you know how hard it can be to find a head gasket. The ATC/TRX version is on the left (the cylinder on the right is an '85 CR Mugen, wich uses o-rings) I have ten (minimum order). PM me if anybody ever needs one.

I dont wanna get your post off topic K10...Buttt did you happen to see that Mugen is back into bikes? They make a "Banzai kit" for the crf450's which makes something like 17% more bottom end and 8% top end.

Yes, ones for sale. I'm looking to redo my top end.

Ok gatcha.
They are pretty hard to find. Took me about 3 years and that was a darn luck streak, in my estimation..... I had help from a couple of guys in the UK. My CR cylinder was pieced together over a couple years. I got the worn out cylinder here in the states a couple years ago and then finally acquired the matching head over in the UK a few months back. I had both of the original chrome bores stripped (lack of Moly rings availability) and had both cylinders re Nikasil'd. Now they can be used at will... :-)
Anyway, the bare ones pictured are indeed the finished bronze powder coated ones. I don't have any extras. I only wish I had more. I know of other guys on the hunt as well, so better nab one if you get the chance. I know of them fetching 3K to the right guy.... That's a bit steep, but supply and demand will make people rabid. (lol) Here's some before and and after pics.

I'm not into the 4 strokes much, but would love to see any current Mugen offroad stuff. I know Mugen is alive in the automotive scean. Thanks!

I knew it was a long shot you having any extras and if so, that you wouldn't want 1-2k + for it. I'm very familiar with Mugen in the car scene and almost crapped myself a year ago when I saw someone post their Mugen Cylinder here.

Were they widely sold over seas? I have some connections in London, Taiwan, and Japan.

Pretty sure you could get one anywhere, but from what I've been told, under 200 were cast. Each is numbered under the intake. I know of a damaged CR jug, but haven't followed up on it for a few months. It's head was the one I ended up getting. The hunt is half the fun. :)

Cool stuff. Thanks for the links!
The prices are still steep...Eeek.
I read that the ATC/TRX Mugen cylinder kit sold for $650 back in '86. So about the same nut to crack with today's inflation.
