That is going to be a pretty expensive repair. Are you sure youi had the right sprocket on the shaft? If it didn't fit perfect it'll eat away at the teeth on the shaft. Your probably going to have to take it to your dealer, unless your a pretty competant mechanic.

YOU HAVE TO SPLIT THE CASE TO FIX IT IF YOU NEVER DID IT BEFOR BRING IT TO A DEALER TO FIX IT OR PAY A MECHANIC TO DO IT FOR YOU

i would not suggest welding it. to replace a sprocket you will have to cut it off. you should split the cases and replase the shaft. alot of work and expensive but its the only thing to do

Do not weld it, i had a 300ex that the owner welded the sprocket on. The 1st hour i rode it the wled crack and the chain jump and put a hole in the cases.Oopsy:mad: ITs a good thing the cuy bought it back from me.:eek2:

a small tack weld in a few places around the edge of the sprocket should do the job. cutting the weld back off is no big deal either. anyone who is crafty with a torch can do this without damage to the surrounding areas. keep in mind, this is a temporary fix. long term it needs to be replaced.
