quick piston question

I have an 11/1 wiseco 426. "88mm" piston and I was wondering what I should make the gap on the rings? If it matters I have a stage 3cdi so it'll be at higher rpms and I have a stage 2 hotcam and some other stuff

There should be a piece of paper that has the formula, if I rember for top ring its borex.004 and for second its borex.005 ill look qt the paper when I get home and double check

My paper said it was supposed to be .0400 but I thought that seemed high

do you alwasy have to gap the rings? i ordered a piston kit and i simply dropped the piston in and didn't gap anything and it's been running fine for over a year now.

I checked the gap on the new set of rings i just installed, ring gap was exactly what the paper said it should be.

Are you installing new rings on an older piston or a new set (piston and rings)? Id always check just to make sure either way.

Its always good to check and file the end gap if needed. Usually I find when I have my sleeve bored the gaps are pretty dang close if not exact so I dont bother filing them.
