well with winter aproaching and the riding season ending , ive decided to tear my trx down for the winter rebuild.Im gonna go through everything to be ready for next years motocross. here are a few few tear downs and thats as far as I have made it....

Id be rebuilding mine, but stuffs dang $$$ when you dont work all that much.

What comp ratio and piston ya gonna use? I was thinking when I do mine Im gonna do a 12:1 CP. Shame venom stopped making the 12.25:1...was super nice :(

Look at my last years build im keeping the motor same just new rings seals ect to freshin it up. My setup is a cp 12:0:5 piston sb ,tusk clutch , hinson basket, hotcam stage 2, ported head, +1 ferrea valves , web valve springs. Its pretty stout and the best part PUMP GAS..

Thats pretty much what I was gonna do. Cept I wanted to do the hinson billet basket and crf clutch.

Hows it run vs stock, stock imho isnt allt hat powerful for a 450. Compared to my EX the EX has more torque-the 450 has more hp.

ETA: I Also want to replace the crank but hey its an 04 with a ton of hours on it and the guy rode it alot it seems. Still , you would think the crank woulda gone by now? Its possible he replaced it b/c I can see the gaskets unlike the factory when they assemble the cases you cant see anything.

Stupid cranks on these things tho.

well its way quicker then stock at about 53hp pretty much as built as you can go on pump and still be realiable and sb st. I did put a updated crank in aswell just for peace of mind. and its possible he replaced it but he could have had a gear or somthing shear or anything to split the cases and use a new gasket...

Im gonna check mine when I do the topend. No play i might just leave it IDK. Seems they usually fail (least the ppl at the org mention it) pretty early on usually.

53hp is good, porting is the biggest cost for me. Since the seasons pretty much over I might just save my cash up and wait to do the build.

Got alot of stuff done on the quad so far I have the nerfs,swingarm,bars,grab bar ect painted set of plus 2 arms ordered,misc stuff came like grips bearings ect. gotta get tires, sprokets chain graphics and front hubs yet. then I still gotta get the frame stem arms and hubs painted up . I promiss Ill get pics tomarrow sorry ive put it off so much

I'm in the same boat as you Mark but I'm adding a crank.. I don't want it to trash anything after I rebuild it.. I figure (hope ;) ) it'll be good for another 5 years after I replace it..

Yea I feel once I crack it open I will check it out and see. But imho if it hasnt gone yet and doesnt have play when I take it apart its good to go.
