Finally getting another 250r this afternoon! This time its a 1985 atc250r. Needs to be put back together and needs a piston but no big deal since my brother has a 330 jug, piston, and head at his house in storage. Oh yeah, she will fly!

For sure I will. Only mods I know of that he knows of is dirt digger clutches, Hinson basket, bored .30 over and is regeared for top end. I'm anxious to get this thing and can't wait to take the maiden voyage on it

Well I went and got it and this thing is super clean. The original plastics are on it but the front is cracked but no big deal. It also came with a 39mm keihn carb and a fmf fatty pipe and silencer. The original gold wheels are SUPER clean. I Almost want to put this thing back to original but I'm not. Plans are to build the motor with my bros spare esr330 top end, rpm extended axle, Beadlock wheels powder coated gold to match the front wheel. Still undecided on what tires to run on it, not sure if 18's would be too small for it with maybe a 20" front tire?

a few things....

if the spark plug comes out the the center and straight up, you will have a problem removing it and putting ht boot on, you need a br8ecm plug to do this

next, about the 20" front tire, you will need a special rim for that, few tires are available for the 11" rim, smallest you can get is a 22". There is a guy on 3ww that sells a rim that you can put a 10" tire on and no grinding down the hub or brake caliper. About the tires, there is a few good tires available for 11" rim, 23" kenda front max, dunlap 22" kt151 and makes a duro 22" tire. There used to be much more availbale.

Also, since you plan on throwing some money into this, get an inverted fork front end, huge difference. Jason Hall, on this site, makes everything you need and shortens the forks for it to be a nearly bolt-on setup. Last time I talked to him, he really likes 97-07 cr125 forks

22" front tire would be good with me, thanks for all that info! Do you know the size front tire right off hand? Just looking to get some prices

stock was 23x8x11, they either had 23.5x8x11 or 23x8x11. Others were offered in 24x8x11. Dunlap kt151 is 22x7x11. I like this tire, last time I rode, I used this tire. Duro made a a tire that is the same, I don't know where I found the one I have.

Hows that 310 on that atc? Im wondering if the 330 would be complete over kill on such a light trike.

very well could be. I had a 330 in it at one time, crap esr bolt-on, I liked the stock well ported cylinder much better. This was with a stock swinger also. When I got the 295pv, 14/38 gearing and fast track rear tires. I couldn't control it, I got a +1 swinger, its controllable, but will throw me very easily. It still is quite a wheelie machine, rear tires can be a choice depending on track conditions and how the turns are. Too much grip, Turf tamers, it doesn't turn good, but will throw you. Fast trekkers turn way too fast and don't grip good. I like kenda knarly's on it(discontinued), perfect mix of grip and slide. I now have razrs on it, alittle too much side gripping. Next time I ride, its gonna get duro V block flat track tires.
It has a short track tank setup(honda racing parts), 14/36 gearing, +1 swinger, ktm 85sx forks and front brake, Elka rear shock, OMF seat latch(yes, they did make one, I found a place that has them), 39 pwk, cr250r rad valve, reed spacer, 01 cr250r ignition, LED atc pipe(standard-300 bore), lrd trx silencer, PWR radiator, aluminum airbox(seals much better) and cr250 twist throttle. It is also a custom frame, trx450r brake pedal and master, trx450r peg mounts and trx250r nerfs(cut down with adapters for a trx450r and tube welded to frame for front mount). I have paul turner high rev pipe and esr atc5 pipe

Damn that sounds like a hell of a trike! Any pics? I thought about doing some kind of nerf set up on it but design my own style. My tire choice is those during tires you are talking about. I already have a set of those and some razr mx's, one set 20" one set 18"
