Rear Hub Castle Nut

I just picked up a craigslist special 2002 400EX and it is missing one of the rear axle hub nuts. I picked one up from the local dealer but it doesnt even fit over the end of the axle shaft. The axle looks like its chrome, possible aftermarket? Could it take a special castle nut?

If its chrome its most likely an aftermarket axle. Take the nut off of the other side and figure out what size it is, match it up if possible. Or contact some of the axle manufacturers and see if it matches what they sell, then see if you can buy one from them. Check Durablue, RPM and Tusk(purchased through rocky mountain atv) those are probably the 3 most popular, but there are others available. Good luck

Can you upload a pic of the axle and nut? I can almost gurantee you that somebody on here can tell you what it is.

I should be able to upload some pics later this evening. I was looking on the Durablue site and they offer a 20mm version.
