I've been thinking about putting a winch on the quad. I feel like I will be more daring with it and if I do get stuck I could pull it out easier. Has anyone tried this?

Someone on here has one. I can't remember his name but I saw it in a picture he took and posted in a thread, maybe someone else can help, or he'll see this thread.

Don't do it Bro, the whole purpose of having the quad is to get out with your buddies to have some fun and leave the winch at home in the kitchen!!!

^^^I say why not?? Depends where you ride..If you do alot of secluded back woods with not much traffic to get your stuck *** out of help i'd say go for it.

I have a winch on my 400ex. I have had it for years and has helped many times.

Man that looks really good, I wish I had that on my 400ex when I was a trail rider.

So I'm sure it would come in handy. With the extra weight in the front does it help? I don't want a utility. Is it easy to install?

The winch is pretty light, I really dont notice it being on there. As for the install it was very easy. The mont bracket bolts right to the frame and top 2 bumper bolts, then the winch mounts directly to that. As for the wiring that was very easy as well as everything is in a self contained system. All you need to do is run the battery cables and an ignition power wire. The module fits under the hood easily.
