Cool head is made different from a stock TRX head.
#1
It will hold more coolant by how it is machined on the inside, so will cool far better than a stock TRX head.
#2
The inner dome is removable so that you can custom the amount compression your wanting or replace just that part should it get damaged.
#3
How the outside surface of the dome is machined, it promotes betting cooling as well.
#4
The Cool head design, you can get it machined so that it would use a head gasket for sealing or either with o ring grooves & use o rings.
#5
The whole head, outer shell & inner dome are machined out of billet aluminum, not cast, & the areas where the head studs go through are a bit thicker than the stock TRX head, so the cool head will hold its shape much more than the stock TRX head, which is another + to add to all the other features.

Yes, specially the one with o ring sealing, because the sleeved OEM cylinder to 310 is the hardest to keep the head gasket area sealed.

ESR is back producing their cool heads for the OEM TRX cylinders.

Ok, now you say it is an aftermarket cylinder, which is it ?, CT Racing, ESR, LRD, Duncan PC2000 ???, because it makes a difference which cylinder it is.

Curtis never made a cyl just made mods to stock and other's cyl. Is there any way that you could post a photo of the cyl in question? That would help neil answer your question.

Curtis had a few Pro-x set ups.
His bag was the OEM jug & then everybody that had one in their hands trying to figure out what he did to them.
