11 ecx 70

I am going to pick my sons new bike thursday. It is a 11 ecx70 but the guy ordered it as a 86cc. The bike is like new ( 1 tank of fuel used ) but what kind of common failures should i look out for. We will be running xc with it so any setup tips ( tires, gearing, water proofing )would be appreciated. The bike aside from the engine is totally stock. And what makes these things into a 86 cc? Larger only or stroker crank also? He will be running his drr90 until he gets used to the manual clutch but would like to get it prepped over the winter months. Thanks

We haven't run one xc, but I would think that the sperical bearings are going to wear very quickly in xc use. Might look into JB xc a arms with 400ex or 450r spindles and brakes. The air filter is open, so you will want to make some splash protection there. Also, the stator cover leaks. Might look at sealing it. The 80cc engines are big bore only. I bet the 86cc is a stroker and big bore, but I don't know that for sure.
