piggys or bolt ups?

what are better? i am looking at buying a set of elkas and was wondering which is better?remote rezziesor piggybacks? that for you info and opinions ahead of time........:)

There is no preformance advantage to either. I like the piggy's better because you don't have to worry about mounting them and there is no chance of a branch breaking a hose (which I have seen happen on some Works shocks)

I'm with Jeff on this. Not having to worry about mounting the remotes is nice. Plus, they look cool :macho

I got Remotes and let me tell you I wish I had Piggybacks now. With my Stabilizer there is crap all over in the front of my frame. Since there is no difference in performace go with piggybacks...

I like the looks of the remote but like you said it gets a little tight when you need to mount other stuff. :cool:

piggybacks mean you can remove the shocks in 5 minutes...remotes mean you have to deal with hoses..location..etc. etc. etc...

What are the chances of a bigger branch/tree/log/rock:eek2: breaking off one of the piggy backs? Judging by the pics i've seen, it looks like the rezzies stick out like sore thumbs!lol!
I'm sure they are more secure than hoses, but I bet they cost more to replace.
Shocks are going to be my next major purchase, barring any damages that need fixing:p . I'm just compiling info before making a decision.:)

if u brake the piggy off u are dead or ur quad is smashed... they are like 2 inches wide and 1 1/2 thick...

i love my piggy back rezzys...

I duno , but i am a man of Looks, and i think the looks of the Remotes is better, now I dunno why,but i just am....


Also,wouldn't maybe my a slight margin the Remotes oil be cooler since it has the oil line to run threw?

And also Warrior Man.....why don't you mount your stabilizer in a diffrent place,or mount the rezzies on the frame tubes that the oil-rezzy is mounted on....

I am prolly gonna get a GPR damper,so i don't gotta worry bout the mounting BS,plus there better too...

I asked Martin this question a couple years ago and he said that actually the piggy's ran 1 or 2 degrees cooler in testing than remotes. He said it has something to do with the piggy mount acting like a heat sink.
Piggy's have been around longer than remotes (Ohlins) and all these years I have never seen a piggy break off on any of the brands. However I have seen several hoses broken.

when i got my PEPs i was gonna get piggy back but wayne did not recomend it, i belive he said that they can rip off, im not 100% that was the reason but all i know is they don't recomend it

I have remote rezzy's and they get in the way alot. Wish that I did have piggy backs but to my knowledge axis do not make them.
