View Full Version : Time to upgrade - not sure my best options ??

So we have 2 (purchased used) TRX90's and love them for the intended purpose, but as always I want more. We also have a LTZ250, KFX400, 2 and 4 stroke motorcross bikes etc etc. I have raced motocross for a bit so I know a bit about the scene and the machines but not miniquads to well. We are also very budget minded and most of my machines were amazing deals that I added some labour and parts and made mechanically new again.

The gap between the 90 and up is huge. The Z250 is pretty big in size and weight. We don't race atv's but need some more power for mountain riding and hills we encounter. Plus its rocky and the suspension is quite limiting.

We are in Canada so finding great deals on modded machines in Country is pretty tough.

Is the TRX90 with a 114 kit and the estimated 2-4 hp gain that much better of a climber/torque machine?? I can't seem to find video of a 114 kit running. Then there is the suspension, I dont want to throw $1000 at it. If only it had double A-arms to begin with. Any handling mods and I might as well get a used mod machine already prepped for the cost.

I've toyed with a used Pitster FXR150 but there are none up here. Raptor 125's are nice but they are so expensive in Canada. There are some great 90 based mod machines in the classifieds but there all US based. Might be worth to ship to Montana and pick up but we are 7 hours from the border.
I can't help but to mod my machines and watching the kids get beat up on the TRX90 makes me constantly wonder what I can do to help them out
