Hey guys! I don't lurk the forums very often anymore but decided I better start doing it again since I have the itch to try and see how I do on a quad again. In 2006 I switched to the 2 wheel side, but have always had a 250r in the stable. After years of it collecting dust I decided to take it for a spin and had a blast. A dear friend of mine was selling his LSR 250r that was half apart so I decided to snatch it up and have been spending the past 6 months putting it back together. I just got the custom axis shocks back from Jet suspension here in Indiana and I think it's time the 250r and I made our maiden voyage! I will be racing it in a local XC race this weekend and hope to run the GNCC Ironman this year with it if everything goes according to plan! I will be sure to post up some pictures and let you guys know how I do! I hope to roost some 4 strokes!

I've done a little bit of both on bikes but have stuck to XC for the past few years. Not a lot of MX here in Indiana. Atleast not like XC! Pictures will definitely be posted tomorrow after I put the final touches on and get it cleaned up!

Well guys I must say the race went better than expected. My brother and I both ran our 250r's for the first time ever. He started the row in front of me and since he has been racing quads the past few years he obviously pulled on me by a few minutes after the first 2 laps. However I came to a very technical creek section and there he was sitting unable to get his quad started. I passed him and he finally got his started only to clip a tree and break a tie rod end. He was a little frustrated because his race ended early. I ran 3 laps and on my 4th I came into the pits because my thumb was soooo tired I couldn't push the throttle! Time to get a new cable and lighten the spring as well as get some ride time in on a quad! I felt like I was running a good pace in the C 22+ class until I pulled into the pits. With a little bit of conditioning I can see myself finishing well on the old 2 stroke. Everyone sure loved seeing the old 250's out there! I am pumped to start racing a quad again!

I will have to go through some pictures to see if there are any more. We have photographers at every race so I'll try to find the ones that they took.

Found out I was running 4th and only 9 seconds behind 3rd when I decided to pull off. Time to start doing some thumb exercises!:D

Pm or post up your next race before hand. I'd like to come out if it is near southern Indiana.

Next race for me will more than likely be the GNCC Ironman in Crawfordsville. You should come up for that race! Its a really fun event for spectating or racing!

Ended up 2nd place in the team race today. We were running 1st until my brother's bike fouled a plug. Not sure what caused it but we have some jetting to play with before the Ironman next weekend. Quads are already washed and in the garage ready for the wrenching to begin!

That looks like a pretty nice bike. I was planning on racing the Ironman but my R isn't 100% ready to go.

What are you runnin motor wise? And post more pics!

Waiting for my brother to come through on his first lap so I could take off. Sorry for the lack of action pictures. I plan to get a go-pro camera soon and also try to get some action pics!

Thanks! You should come out and spectate! Should be a good race again this year! Motor is actually just a stock cylinder that has had some port work done. I'm not sure who did the work but it sure has plenty of low end grunt with the paul turner pipe. It doesn't have a hard hit but is actually very smooth power which helps not wear me out as bad. I can also lug it around in the technical sections easily which can help quite a bit. I think riding a bike for so long taught me that smooth and flowing riding can be much faster than darting from tree to tree in a 2 hr race!

Thats a sweet looking bike!!

I started racing a 250r (330) this season down here in FL. I was the only R at the season opener. Gotta say, it kicks the 450's asses on the trail.
