There is a reason everybody only uses a few brands and avoids other brands.

Some brands make power and others make noise. Some can take the abuse of the ATV being ridden hard and jumped and others can't. Some last several years and other you replace yearly.

I couldn't have said any better.

White Brothers are rare nowadays, they were bought out by vance and hines around 2005 or so. I had an E-series on my 400, it was nice and performed well, it rusted out around the end of the canister or i might still have it. No shame for a 10 year old exhaust.

As ajw2685 said, a few are just flat out better than others.

In my opinion, on a 400 motor, Sparks is the hands down best. 400 builds were and still are their bread and butter.

Buying a no-name or off-brand just to be different...well to be honest, it's dumb. Like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

But hey bro, it's your quad, go do what ya want!

Only a few pipes I would buy that are worth it
-HMF
-FMF
-Sparks
-CT Racing
-Lexx (works but is a slip on and needs some work to fit but its REALLY NICE for the money
-Motoworks
-Pro circuit.

Rest, just aint worth it. Personally I very much like HMF. Sparks is nice but $$$ and so is CT.

You dont gain junk with the 400 with an aftermarket header-the design itself is just to restrictive period.

Should add Yoshimura to that, I prefer my yoshi much more than an FMF and I like it better than my friends HMF.

Fatboy from Duncan is nice also. I bet none of your buddies have one.

You want to stay away from DG and, (i know i'll get flamed for this) BigGuns. Cobra (lol) is another one.

My builder runs yosh on his 450r flattreacker and loves it. I'd love to have their titanium one, it's just simply too much for a trail beater. Around the 1k mark. Not sure if they are even made for 400's, probably are. Another one i bet none of your friends have.

Big gun EVO r with a fmf powerbomb header is a good combo. They just re engineered all of the big gun slip ons sp they give a lot more clearence

I gotta say, I have probably been more impressed with my Pro Circut T4 than any other exhaust.

I am picky when it comes to exhausts too.

but it has an awesome sound to it, but it is not loud, compared to some.

HMF has that very distinctive deep belching sound to them, which is awesome, but they are loud.

I don't even have an end cap for my T4 and love it.

The next exhaust I will buy with either be a Motoworks, or a CT Racing.
I wish Baldwin Motorsports made an exhaust.

I would hop right on that.

Baldwin is an awesome company, and puts out sooo much to the sport.

Not that I recommend going off the charts but if you're determined to be different, the newer DMC pipes aren't bad...

Honestly if I could have anything it would be a Leo Vince modified to fit a 400ex, those pipes are sick and worked great on my friends Kx250f. Sound is so crisp, nothing I've heard before.

Wow I had looked all over the internet for one of those, probably should have gone to their website. I was almost sure they didn't make one.

Seriously these pipes are freakin sweet. Youtube some sound tests and tell me that it doesn't sound awesome.

Since you dont want yours and want something better and dont care much for the one you have, I suggest making a shorty exhaust out of it and hollowing out your slipon.

Its the best exhaust for a 400ex other then a expensive hard to find dual exhaust. Its worth doing just to experiment with and its free!!! It might even make you change your mind on buying a new one.

Youll need to bump up the jetting slightly and it will be a touch louder then a packed exhaust, the custom shorty with the header welds ground down is compareable if not better then the most expensive full system out there.

Shorties are amazing! Made a shorty out of a white brothers e series and removed all the tuning plates on the end. Sweet sound only down side is it is the loudest pipe I've heard on a quad!

I am really satisfied with my Trinity full system, sounds great, seems like it performs awesome, I have not seen another 400EX with one or another quad for that matter! All my friends say they love the sound of it. Even the kid that listed it on Craigslist while it was stolen said in the add that the exhaust sounded amazing! Not to him anymore thank god!
